When do you see benefits of drinking water?
For years I've heard of all the wonderful benefits of drinking plenty of water everyday. I've just started doing this due to a kidney stone - I usually manage the recommended 2 quarts per day.
What I want to know is when will I start seeing these benefits? Weight loss, better skin, better hair, etc.?
And for that matter, what other things can I expect to improve?
I had to start drinking mostly water and lots of it about ten years ago. I don't remember how long it took to see results, but the first change I noticed was the adult acne I had suffered with for years went away and never came back. I also started sleeping better, and I stopped having as many head aches and PMS related issues.
For my children, making them drink plenty of water takes a lot of effort, especially in the summer when they're busy playing outside. Several years ago, my son was constantly getting severely painful tummy aches. One night we had to rush him to the E.R because he was writhing in pain. The Doctor examined him thoroughly and then asked him if he was thirsty. My son said yes he was, but hadn't really noticed it until he was asked. The doctor hooked up an I.V. of fluid, and within fifteen minutes the tummy ache was gone. The Doc said that he had several children come into the E.R. every day during the summers for dehydration related stomach aches (there was a kid in the next room who was there for the same thing).
My husband and I were really upset, because we never let our children drink anything but water and we felt like we were always pushing it on them. The Doc recommended that we get our son his own water bottle and have him carry it outside with him whenever he plays. After that, he hasn't had a single stomach ache.

drinking water is basically like eating air, so probably not for quite a while.

I don't really notice all the benefits you've described. I just feel better. And that's an instantaneous thing. Water helps to keep your skin hydrated, but you don't all of a sudden get great skin from drinking water. Same thing with great hair and losing weight. It helps with those things, but it's not like a dramatic transformation.

when i started drinking more water, it took me a week. In which i got a lot of spots because my body was detoxing itself. So i'd say a week.

It takes a bit. Does not happen overnight.
As far as weight loss goes, you have to exercise and switch up your diet to see the benefits of water. Because you can drink 8 glasses a day of water or more, but if you are eating fast food/junk/sugar, you will NOT see a difference. At all.

It's not going to be a dramatic improvement overnight but you will see little improvements as the months or weeks go by like you will feel more energetic and it helps you have clearer skin less breakouts. Just keep it up.
Eat right and execise because water alone will not make you lose weight.

When you take care of the kidney stone situation with your doctor, then you weigh in on the benefits of drinking water. Water is very beneficial. It is clean and pure and rinses out toxins in the system. I stress SEE YOUR TRUSTED DOCTOR and get treatment for the kidney stone. He will help you heal from that situation. Then you can operate in your life from there. Remember this, What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? - Romans 8:31. The Lord daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah. - Psalm 68:19. Peace and God Bless.

i think keeping hydrated helps to keep your energy level up.
ever wake up so thirsty you had to force yourself to dragass outta bed? ..it's like that.
i also think that your joints (the ones in your body) stay 'lubricated' ,by drinking lots of water.
in example.. i am not the most athletic person in the world and if let myself get dehydrated , it's even more difficult to get moving again, after a long stretch of inactivity.
PLUS.staying hydrated keeps you less likely to get over-heated , in warmer climes. it's good 'antifreeze'.
plus it prolly keeps you away from the bad liquids, like soda and sugary fluids. that'd be good for your mouth hygene.
